FreyPhoebe (Gilchrist)Phoebe Frey (nee Gilchrist) – 91, of Absecon, was peacefully welcomed into her Savior’s arms on Monday, October 13, 2014. Born in Philadelphia on February 27, 1923, she went on to graduate from Moorestown High School in 1941 and Columbia Bible College in 1950.

Phoebe taught Sunday School for 50 years in First Baptist Church (Atlantic City), Trinity Baptist Church (Pleasantville), and Trinity Alliance Church (Cologne). She taught kindergarten in Brigantine and Absecon public schools where she also taught 4th grade. Phoebe will forever be remembered for her love for God and her constant prayers. She loved supporting missionaries and being generous to those in need. She enjoyed bird watching, vacations with her family, and going out to eat. She was very proud of her mother's business, Gilchrist Restaurant in Atlantic City, where she worked in her twenties. A legacy of love and prayer are left with her dear friends and family.

Phoebe was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Marie Gilchrist; husband, Louis Henry Frey; sister, Ruth Stevens; brother, Bob Gilchrist. She is survived by; her sister, Marie Swain (North Carolina); daughter Lydia (Frey) Gajtkowski and her husband Dan, of Mullica Township; son, Louis G Frey (Skip) and his wife, Aimee, of Egg Harbor Township; grandchildren, David, Luke and Emily (Darpino), Tara, Robert, and Chris.

A viewing for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday, October 16th from 6-8pm at Trinity Alliance Church, 101 S. Cologne Avenue, Egg Harbor City. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th at 11am at the church. Burial will follow at Adams Cemetery, Port Republic.

In lieu of flowers, Phoebe requested memorial gifts to America's Keswick in Whiting, NJ and Trinity Alliance Church. Funeral arrangements by Adams-Perfect Funeral Home.
