Swink, Floyd, U.S. Army

Floyd D. Swink was born on October 21, 1918, in Avon, NY. Floyd enlisted in the U.S. Army when he was 21 years old. He served as a private in the 157th field artillery from October 1940 to 1941 and again as a Corporal Field lineman from October 1942 until November 1945. He was honored with a Purple Heart and several other awards for his distinguished service. The WWII Victory, American Defense Service, American Campaign were some of the other awards he received. He served time in N. Africa and Italy.
