Central High School: Central High School opened in 1904 at 224 East Lewis, west side of Barr Street, between Lewis & Montgomery, but continued to be known by its predecessor's name, Fort Wayne High and Manual Training School until 1923, when South Side High School was opened. Central High School closed in 1971. Its predecessor was located on the north side of East Wayne Street, between Calhoun & Clinton.
