Hawkins, Harold Talmage, 602nd and 609th Field Artillery Battalion, U.S. Army

Harold Talmage Hawkins was born in the east bedroom of the family farm home, in Liberty Township, Tipton County, Indiana on 17 May 1911. He was the second son of Harry Talmage and Edna Mary (Spaulding) Hawkins. Working the farm with four brothers and two sisters he graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1928. He atended Purdue University graduating in 1932 with a degree in mechanical engineering, and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, Field artillery. Read more...
