Dear Charlie:

Your letter of Jan 6th received and enjoyed as usual. You have been real good in writing so often and also Emily. I'm afraid I havent answered either of you as often as I should have but hope you will forgive and forget any possible neglect on my part. Needless to say I have thought of you often. I usually get my picture gallery (as I call it) out which shows the old home so dear, then pictures of mama, Papa, you, Laura & Emily and oh my! two or three girl friends who have contributed since I came over. It makes a fellow feel good to know he has such pleasant surroundings to return to you can bet. Did I ever tell you that I saw old King George of England when we were in the English Sector in June. I saw his reception at our division hqrs and it was quite an affair. He is a good kind looking man and I guess well liked in England.

We are having some "bang up" shows here now. Tonight I heard the 307 Field Artillery band play and they simply out did themselves. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Old dame rumor has arisen again and said we move toward home March 1st. and that the U.S. will see us some time during March. It seems to be pretty well credited throughout the division and I hope its true. There are a few signs also pointing toward it which makes me think there is something in it.

It seems to me mama said that Papa wrote me lately but I havent heard from him as yet. Also my Bambergers box has failed to arrive. My Xmas box & Ralphs landed in our hands Dec. 28th at the same time so we were happy. I hope you receive the films I sent home some time ago. Make a few prints of the two or three that are good. I have had some more taken by Fred who comes over every saturday and expect them in a week or so. I also sent a box home with a few gifts but you annd papa will have to wait.

Im just itching to get back in the banking game again as this laying around is no good. We may hate work sometimes but I dont know what we would do without it in the end.

When I get some more postals will mail you some more views of Semur. Will close now. I am feeling fine and dandy.
